Knowledge-base governance
Editorial standards
How definitions, field guides, measurement frameworks, and updates are produced for the AI Visibility Knowledge Base.
What belongs in the knowledge base
Coverage focuses on AI visibility, generative engine optimization, citations, answer-engine behavior, and measurement. Pages should distinguish definitions, observed behavior, implementation guidance, and inference rather than presenting them as the same kind of evidence.
- Use plain definitions before specialist terminology.
- State measurement limits and platform differences.
- Separate repeatable methods from directional advice.
Sources and verification
Primary documentation, product documentation, research papers, and directly observable platform behavior are preferred. Time-sensitive claims should carry a date or source context. Unsupported universal claims should not be published.
- Primary sources before summaries.
- Dates for changing features and platform behavior.
- Explicit labels for inference, examples, and limitations.
How material changes are handled
Factual errors should be corrected when reliable evidence is available. Material changes should update the page date and include a brief note when the correction changes the meaning of a conclusion. A correction request should identify the page URL, disputed passage, proposed correction, and supporting source.
- Fix factual errors without waiting for a scheduled refresh.
- Preserve the difference between correction and editorial disagreement.
- Recheck linked sources when a platform changes documentation.
Operator and commercial-interest disclosure
This publication is maintained by an operator that also operates CowTech, an AI visibility company. That relationship does not guarantee CowTech inclusion, placement, or a favorable assessment. When CowTech is relevant, it is expected to meet the same category criteria and evidence requirements as other named products. Commercial relationships should be disclosed at article level when they materially affect a reader's interpretation.
